Guerrilla Productions presents
The Temple
Never before adapted to film, this short story by H. P. Lovecraft follows two descents: a German submarine's descent to the bottom of the ocean and its sole inhabitant's descent into madness. Perhaps this the same journey?
Although Guerrilla Productions has completed one shot using underwater gear, The Temple will be the first production that uses extensive underwater footage, as well as miniature sets and props. The technical hurdles are proving... challenging... but the results should look spectacular
In addition to the challenges of shooting underwater, The Temple offers additional challenges, including the integration of location footage shot in Hannover, Germany.

Production Diary
- 02-09-2007: Moritz comes over this evening and we record the narrative. The result is really excellent! We've managed to work up a makeshift recording studio in a utility room, with a booth made from a hung blanket. It works very well, indeed!
- 02-05-2007: We might have our narrator. It's been a bit of a bear -- everyone who says they're interested eventually bails. It's not as if the project's cursed or anything.
10-30-2006: The message is offering trouble. Because of the pressure, a message in a bottle would implode instantly. However, if it didn't implode, then the expanding air within would op the cork or burst the bottle on the way up. We are debating about using a torpedo as the medium. I will probably go with a bottle, however, because it's poetic. And cheaper than building a scale WWI German torpedo.
- 10-27-2006: Completed script rewrite. Switched to present tense and added a few details about Heinreich's life. Nothing huge, subtle details. Also shifted it from the U29 to the U69, and adjusted the dates to coincide with the actual disappearance of the German submarine U69.
- 10-25-2006: Completed cast listing. Sent out a query for props and costume design. One of the props we're looking for right now is a diving helmet and costume. It would be cool. We're also looking for a Luger and of course, uniforms and such.
- 09-27-2006: Script complete.
