Guerrilla Productions Newsletter: August 4, 2005

Welcome dreamers, the undead, and the followers of weirdness, to the damn-has-it-already-been-a-month monthly newsletter from Guerrilla Productions. We've fallen quite far behind, but mostly I blame myself -- it's so convenient! So, what's the news, what's the news...

The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath

FINALLY! We expect to receive our first shipment of DVDs before this breath runs out. They are done, done, done and I am one happy monkey for it! As many of you know, the preliminary limited edition run sold out in just under six months. We were delayed reprinting for a number of reasons, but now we're ready to go. Here's what the new DVD features:

Flesh of my Flesh
http://www.FleshOfMyFlesh.com/
What a project! Flesh of my Flesh is Guerrilla Production's second feature film, this time a live-action horror movie, following the last three hours of the War of the Undead, as told by the people caught in the middle. Flesh of my Flesh features knock-out performances by Heather Rose Walker, Matthew Martin, Ron Richardson, Drew Barrios, Rex Irae, and many, many more.

This project is in post-production, although we are planning to shoot another scene a little differently. If you live in or around the Portland area and feel like joining us as a zombie, drop a line to Extras@FleshOfMyFlesh.com. Although we were hoping to have a cut finished in time for the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival, we're instead going to show off one of our more compelling teasers there and save the premiere for a later date. The sound crew and effects crew and editing crew are working like gangbusters to make this the coolest darn amateur zombie movie we've ever seen!

The Cosmic Horror Fun-Pak
http://www.Guerrilla-Productions.org/Merchandise.html
The Cosmic Horror Fun-Pak is our second DVD release and features a collection of shorts and oddities from Guerrilla Productions. Some of these shorts have only been shown at private showings and conventions, and now's your chance to see them.

ReCreation
http://www.Guerrilla-Productions.org/Movies.html
We are pleased to announce that ReCreation, our quirky alternate-Universe short movie, inspired by The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, has been accepted and will be showing at the 2005 H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival. Congratulations to the cast and crew and I hope the folks in the audience enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!

New Website
Guerrilla Productions has a new web presence:
http://www.Guerrilla-Productions.org/
The new site shows off our past, present, and future movie projects, our stalwart crew, and features some great downloads and links. In the very near future, we will be adding a discussion board where you can sign up and talk about your favorite Guerrilla Productions project, and occasionally swap notes with the cast or crew, plus we'll probably be adding a few other goodies, too.

The Statement of Randolph Carter
http://www.Guerrilla-Productions.org/Movie_StatementOfRC.html
Guerrilla Productions is very excited about our upcoming short adaptation of one of H. P. Lovecraft's most thrilling stories, The Statement of Randolph Carter. Follow along on the web page to keep track of this amazing project!

The H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival
http://www.HPLFilmFestival.com/
Meet us at the 2005 H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival October 7 - 9 at the Hollywood Theater in Portland, Oregon. Guerrilla Productions is pleased to be helping support the Festival by having a merchant and info booth, where we'll be selling DVDs, posters, and probably a few other goodies as well. Stop by, enjoy some movies, and check out the Cosmic Horror of the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival!

The Beauty of Blood-Bathed Binding
http://www.guerrilla-productions.org/News.html
Guerrilla Productions wishes to congratulate Michael C. Smith and Liv Rainey on their betrothal. Michael and Liv, who make wonderful zombies, were engaged on set during the filming of The Great Zombie War. Never a more sanguinary start to a beautiful relationship!

"Ryan at the Hotshop" showing at Bumbershoot
http://www.bumbershoot.com/lineup/filmfestival.html
One of our crew, Jonathan Locke, is premiering his documentary Help Wanted at this year's Bumbershoot: "The difference between vocation and avocation is more than just the "a" hole, as it were. Sometimes, the truly talented miss their callings 'cause they're too busy (under)selling their skills." If you live in Seattle, do check it out Labor Day weekend.

"The Flu Season" opens at Theatre Vertigo, featuring Heather Rose Walker
http://www.theatrevertigo.org/season.htm
Heather Rose writes "I will be in a play which opens August 26th called The Flu Season. It's a well-crafted, nuanced play and I'm very excited to be a part Theatre Vertigo's production. It's sometimes difficult to get people in the theatre, so this is my personal plea to say, "Please come, and Please spread the word!" :)" Check it out!

Farewell
http://www.thefreehold.org/
On a sad note, the folks here at Guerrilla Productions wishes to extend their deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and co-workers of Guy Mattatiahu, who passed away July 24th. Guy was very supportive, patient, and enthusiastic about Guerrilla Productions' work, and kindly hosted us for the past couple of years out of his own pocket, because of his belief in what we were doing. Thank you sir, and fare thee well.
